Nothing leaves your browser.

What we collect

Nothing. Nuuz does not send any data to any server we control. We do not run a server. There is no Nuuz account, no login, no telemetry, no analytics, no error reporting, no advertising.

What is stored on your device

  • Your list of topics and the RSS feeds inside each topic.
  • Your theme preference (light or dark).
  • A small cache of recent feed content so the new-tab page loads quickly instead of refetching on every tab open.

All of this lives in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data clears it all.

What the extension does over the network

When you open a new tab, Nuuz fetches the RSS feeds you have configured directly from their publishers — for example, NPR, The Verge, or ProductHunt. For articles that do not include an image in their RSS feed, Nuuz fetches the article page once to find a preview image and caches the result locally.

Both kinds of request go straight from your browser to the publisher. Stoodio does not see them, log them, or proxy them. Whatever standard logs the publisher keeps (your IP address, request headers) are the same logs they would keep if you visited their site in any other tab.

Permissions, explained

Host permission for all HTTPS sites (https://*/*)

Required so the extension can fetch any RSS feed you add and find a preview image for any article. Without this, Nuuz could only work with a pre-baked list of sites, which would defeat the “add any source” feature that is the whole point of the extension.

No tabs, no history, no cookies, no identity, no webRequest permission

Nuuz does not read which other tabs you have open, your browsing history, your cookies, your account information, or any traffic outside its own fetches.

Third parties

None. No analytics scripts, no advertising SDKs, no error reporting service, no fonts loaded from a CDN we operate. The extension ships every asset it needs.

Children

Nuuz is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone of any age.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes. Because the extension has no way to push notifications to you, you can find updates by revisiting this page or by reading the release notes on the Chrome Web Store.
